Contacting State and National Leaders
You are encouraged to help establish the July 20th Apollo 11 Moonlanding anniversary, as the Space Exploration Day nonpaid Holiday. With a presidential executive directive, it will become as official as Arbor Day, and Flag Day. The holiday will have a vision for the future, and become popular with the general public. We need as many people as possible to contact their congressmen, U.S. Senators, and state governors, to encourage them to send letters of support to Senators Orrin Hatch of Utah. We need a nationwide swell of public interest to make the holiday possible.
Ask your state governor "Could you please send a letter of support to Senator Hatch, c/o his aid Bryan Hickman, at 104 Hart Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C. 20510. Phone 202-224-5251". Also, encourage your state governor to issue a proclamation, or statement of support, for the July 16-24, 2009 U.S. Space Observance, and for the July 20, 2009 Space Exploration Day.
If your request to have a proclamation issued is successful, please send a copy of the proclamation to David Baxter at the following address:
378 I Street
Salt Lake City, Utah 84103
